The text message consent form

Reftek referees choose whether to receive text messages about their games on their own profile page, which sits behind a referee login. The control below is that exact form, rendered from the same code the profile page uses, so what you see here is what a referee sees there.

It is shown here for reference and is switched off: nothing on this page can be submitted, and viewing it opts nobody in to anything.

How a referee reaches it

  1. They create a Reftek account and connect to Reftek as a referee.
  2. They open their own profile page, where they enter their mobile number, and find the form above directly beneath it.
  3. They choose Yes, text me or No, email only. Neither is preselected, which is the state shown above, and a referee who answers neither is never texted.
  4. They can change the answer on that same screen at any time, or reply STOP to any message.

Consent is never a condition of using Reftek or of being assigned games, and a mobile number is only ever entered by the referee it belongs to. Parents or guardians copied on a referee's game messages receive them by email; their numbers are never used by the text message program.

More detail, including how to stop messages, is on the text messages page. See also our Terms and Privacy Policy.
